Dr. Rob Grenfell of CSIRO to Speak at the Collaborative Innovation in Healthcare: A Frost & Sullivan Executive MindXchange

CSIRO US, Australia’s pre-eminent national science organization, today announced that Dr. Rob Grenfell, Director of the Health and Biosecurity CSIRO Business Unit, will be facilitating an interactive session at the Collaborative Innovation in Healthcare: A Frost & Sullivan Executive MindXchange on January 28, 2019 at the San Diego Marriott La Jolla hotel, La Jolla, CA.

This first annual conference will focus on the Payor and Provider ecosystem evolution. Grenfell will lead an interactive session to discuss innovative, smarter, safer homes that improve healthcare for patients and aging populations.

Drawing upon his experience and CSIRO’s research into healthcare and homecare delivery, Grenfell’s session will discuss how the US health system could benefit from adopting evidence based, innovative, homecare delivery models for chronic health conditions of patients deliver outcomes in a value-based health system and leverage new approaches to patient engagement and empowerment.

“Many countries, including Australia, are looking at their health systems and considering how they will meet future demand,” said Grenfell.

“We need to help consumers shift away from thinking about their health once they’re sick and empower them to make small preventative health adjustments over their life that keep them healthy and out of the hospital.

"Technology, consumer engagement and funding models that incentivize providers based on health outcomes, are just some examples of how we can drive this health system metamorphosis.”   

Grenfell leads CSIRO’s Health and Biosecurity group which spans public health, animal health, and biosecurity. He is also responsible for CSIRO’s broader health strategy, drawing on a deep portfolio of expertise across areas including nutrition, eHealth, Medtech and Diagnostics.
